JETAA Monthly Meetup - August 2010 (First!)

|

WHEN: Evening of August 31st, 7-9pm.

WHAT: Completely casual meetup (first ever!) for JETAA Tokyo-ites and other interested parties to enjoy a brew, network, and get to know each other with no particular agenda.

WHERE: This time we're hitting up the PCM, or Pub Cardinal Marunouchi, near Tokyo Station. Drop in after work and say hello! It's a Tuesday, so we won't be going late.

PS. We're thinking of making this a monthly thing if people like it. In that case, we'll probably use it as an excuse to rotate around interesting spots around Tokyo as well, so we welcome suggestions for new locations.

Answer:

Volunteering at Second Harvest's Saturday Soup Kitchen (9/25)

|

JETAA Tokyo is pleased to join Second Harvest Japan for their Saturday Soup Kitchen activities on September 25 in Asakusabashi (near Akihabara Station).

Second Harvest (2HJ) is Japan's first food bank. The organization collects food that would otherwise go to waste from food manufacturers, farmers, and individuals, and distributes them to people in need such as children in orphanages, battered women and their children in shelters, and the homeless in Japan. For more info about 2HJ, please visit their website: http://www.2hj.org/index.php/eng_home

The Saturday soup kitchen supports the homeless community in Tokyo's Ueno Park. JETAA will be assisting with the morning preparation activities:
