About JETAA Tokyo

The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme Alumni Association of Tokyo (JETAA Tokyo) is an non-profit organization for current and former JET Programme participants living in or are active in the Greater Tokyo Area. We are a regional chapter of JETAA International, and received our charter in the Spring of 2010.

Many JET alumni who remain in Japan after finishing their JET terms eventually find their way to the Tokyo.  We and others who remain outside of Tokyo are at the forefront of the neverending, everyday undertaking of continuing the JET Programme's mission of grassroots internationalization.  However, this time we do so not as enthusiastic young people on an exchange program, but as full members of Japanese society in a wide range of ages and careers.

JET alumni represent an incredible resource of accumulated knowledge and experience about living and building a career in the city.  JETAA Tokyo seeks to bring these individuals together such that this wealth of information may be shared amongst new and old alumni alike.  It is our hope that these new connections and networking opportunities provide value for all our members and may benefit them in their future endeavors.

JETAA Tokyo seeks to create value for the society in which we live by working together with community service groups and NPOs in the Tokyo area; giving back to the communities and the country that gave us the opportunity to come here in the first place.

It is our hope that through these actions we are able to show some of the long term results of the JET Programme, and create a shining source of postive PR for the programme.
