Interested in volunteering with JETAA? Hang out with us when we help out with Second Harvest Japan's Saturday Soup Kitchen Activities (www.2hj.org) on Saturday, February 4.

Please let me know by email (service@jetaa-tokyo.org) if you are interested in helping out with one, two or all of the following shifts. We are always lacking people for the third shift, so if you have time we would really appreciate your help there!

Volunteer in India with Go Longtitude Winter 2011

What are you doing this winter? Do you want to travel? Meet new people? Possibly help others? Via current Saitama JET Denise Schlickbernd, an NGO called GoLongitude is organizing a volunteer trip to India to help build houses in a Dalit village. The Dalit people (formerly called "Untouchables") are considered the lowest caste in Indian society, and many cannot live in safe housing.

Yamathon Charity Event

How long does it take to get around the Yamanote Line on foot?  Only one way to find out!  Join us Sat., Nov. 19th for the annual Yamathon sponsored by The International Volunteer Group.  If you are into running, great!  If not, that's great too.  JETAA Tokyo is recruiting members for a "Need for Speed" Team (max. 4 members) and a "Stop to Smell the Roses" Team (max. 4 members).  Please contact Josh Rhodes to apply with your team preference at co-chair1@jetaa-tokyo.org.
